First Animation Assignment 2013

I would like you to visit the following websites and watch a variety of flash animation.

When you are done watching the animation (spend about 30-35 minutes or so on this) I would like you to tell me what your three favorite flash movies were and why you liked them.
Did you like the storyline? Animation style? Sound effects? Music?

Please list this information, along with the link to access the animation, in the comments section below. Don't forget to put your name and class period at the beginning so I know you did your work.

    I like this one because, in most Flash animations I've seen, shape tweens look out of place or unrealistic. This animation makes them 'work'. It also has an interesting credit sequence.

    The Guardian: I liked this animation because it looked so basic yet really good looking at the same time and the story line was really good.

    Tar boy: I liked this animation because the story line was great, the music and voice overs made it sound like an actual intro to a tv show and the graphics were really amazing to the point where I would think this was an actual show.

    This is an animation from the webcomic homestuck and I love this animation, its really well done, though kinda long. It is one of the best flash animations in the whole webcomic.

    I really like this video as you could relate to the storyline if you had played tetris before. The overall animation drawings were good too as they were able to accurately depict the tetris blocks.

    I didn't know an anime like style could be achieved in flash :o The animation is great and smooth, although there are some awkward pacing throughout. The story seemed intriguing as well, but the captions died on my half way through. Anyways, it's interesting to see how versatile the medium is.

    A bit lesser quality than the previous animations, but it was pretty amusing. Everything was pretty smooth and all, just the pacing seemed off. I wasn't totally immersed in the animation like I am in other cartoons.

    This animation video was very short, but I really liked it. I love playing tetris and I hate when this happens. The goofy cartoony style was great, and I liked how the craracters transformed into real tetris pieces on a tetris game.

    I liked this animation because it had a really short but clever idea and the animation was really well done. Sometimes Flash tweens can look a lot sloppier than normal keyframing, If there even were tweens in this, I couldn't tell. I also very much enjoyed the color palette that the animator used.

    I'm not 100% sure if this is all done in flash. I believe the creator said he did it as a storyboard. I liked this animation because it had an original Coyote and Road Runner story. Also, I like how it has a solid track playing over the whole thing, it makes it feel a lot more old school "cartoony" which is what I think the animator was going for.

    This guy deserves some credit for how well his first animation turned out. The vocal match to the facial was pretty spot on. It didn't have a super interesting idea, it seemed more to show off capability rather than creativity. Awesome first animation!

    This last one is "Batman Hates Bronies" It's from the same guy who did Tarboy, and the animation looks nice, reminds me of Ed,Edd, and Eddy. It also has a nice punchline. Just a warning, there is some strong language in this.

    This animation was short, but it had a story that is more complicated than most other flash animations that I've seen. The story is also shown very clearly through the music, sound effects, and the detailed facial expressions of the characters.

    This is a fairly simple animation, but where this video lacks in aesthetic appeal, it more than makes up for in the story. The story is strait forward, but it's an interesting one that can elicit certain emotions from the audience, which is the whole point of telling a story.

    I am not 100% sure this is in Flash, although it looks like it to me. I like this animation for the sweet story, the music, and the effort they put in to make it look more textured than just stick figures or simple textures.

    I didn't know an anime like style could be achieved in flash :o The animation is great and smooth, although there are some awkward pacing throughout. The story seemed intriguing as well, but the captions died on my half way through. Anyways, it's interesting to see how versatile the medium is.
